WordCamp Europe 2025 will be held from June 5–7 in Basel, Switzerland, and we’re thrilled to announce that, for the first time in 2025, the Diversity Fund Scholarship will be expanded to WordCamp Europe. This has been made possible thanks to the support of WordPress Community Support PBC and Queeromattic.

This initiative originated at WordCamp Asia 2023 and has successfully supported the event since then. We’re delighted to now expand it to WordCamp Europe as well.

The scholarship is intended for individuals who meet the following criteria:

• Is an active WordPress project contributor.
• Has never attended any flagship WordCamps (Asia, US, or Europe) before.
• Requires financial assistance to attend.
• Belongs to an underrepresented demographic among open-source contributors. (Learn more: Diversity in open-source software https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diversity_in_open-source_software)
• Is interested in using their experience to grow their local WordPress community and/or the WordPress community in Europe.

The scholarship will cover travel to Basel from the recipient's home city, hotel stay for the duration of the event, and a ticket to WordCamp Europe 2025.

It will not cover transportation to and from the airport, meals, or other additional travel expenses.
